What counts as an AI action
AI actions are requests that use the AI engine. The 10/day cap on free covers:
- Generating mock interview questions and scoring your answers
- Tailoring a resume to a specific job description
- Producing company intel for a pipeline application
- Drafting a counter-offer email in the negotiation coach
- Generating outreach messages in Network
- Real-time coaching suggestions during a live session
What does NOT count
- Browsing the app
- Adding pipeline entries manually
- Reading the question bank
- Viewing analytics
- Reading help articles
- Editing a STAR story you already wrote
A typical day of real prep — one mock interview (5 questions = 5 actions), one company intel pull, one resume tailor — runs about 8-10 actions. If you're in active interview mode with multiple rounds a week, you'll hit the cap.
The 7-day free trial
Pro includes a 7-day free trial. Full access to everything. No credit card required. Cancel before day 7 and you're not charged.
The trial is worth the most when you're actively interviewing. Starting it during a slow week wastes the best feature — unlimited live sessions and mocks — when you don't need them.
When to upgrade
Upgrade when you hit one of these:
You're applying to more than 20 roles
The pipeline cap is the most common reason people upgrade. If you're in active search mode, 20 fills up in two weeks.
You have multiple interviews this week
3 mocks/week on free is enough for casual prep. It's not enough if you have a phone screen Monday, a technical Wednesday, and a final-round panel Friday. Upgrade, run 10+ mocks, walk in sharp.
You're negotiating an offer
The negotiation coach is limited on free. Pro unlocks full scripts with your specific numbers, counter-offer email drafts, and talking points for the salary conversation. Know your leverage before the call.
You want post-interview debriefs for every round
Debriefs are where the learning compounds. On Pro, every live session gets a full debrief — what went well, what didn't, what to change before next round.
You're running unlimited company intel
Researching 5 companies a week adds up. Pro removes the limit.
When the free plan is enough
Be honest with yourself. Don't upgrade if:
- You're casually exploring the job market, not actively interviewing
- You have one interview a month and 3 mocks/week is plenty
- You want to evaluate the product before committing
- Your pipeline has 5-10 active roles, not 30
The free tier is real. Use it as long as it fits.

- Complete checkout through Stripe
- Pro access activates immediately
Managing your subscription
From Settings → Subscription you can:
- View your current plan — Free, Pro, or trial
- Open the Stripe billing portal — Update payment method, download invoices, change plan
- Cancel anytime — No contracts, no cancellation fees. If you cancel, Pro stays active through the end of the billing period you already paid for.
If you cancel Pro, your pipeline, resumes, and STAR stories stay. You just hit the free-tier caps again — 20 pipeline apps visible, 3 resumes editable, 5 stories, 10 AI actions/day. Nothing gets deleted.
Plan change FAQ
Can I switch from monthly to annual? Yes, from the billing portal. Annual runs at a discount.
What happens to my data if I cancel? It stays. You just lose Pro features and hit free-tier caps.
Do unused AI actions roll over? No. The 10/day free cap resets daily at midnight UTC.
Can I pause my subscription? Cancel instead — you keep Pro through the end of the billing period, then drop to free. Restart any time.
What if I go over the free cap mid-session? Mock interviews complete — we don't cut you off mid-answer. You just can't start a new AI action until tomorrow.
